Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
